New MSUM exhibit to showcase work of Forum photojournalists

MOORHEAD – Three former Forum photographers will display their photojournalism work in a new medium – an art exhibit opening soon at Minnesota State University Moorhead.

“Bearing Witness: The Art of the Photojournalist” will open Tuesday, May 15, and be up through June 29 in MSUM’s Art Gallery and Art Annex, which is located in the lower level of the Roland Dille Center for the Arts, 801 13th St. S. It will be open 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The exhibit features work by Colburn Hvidston III, Dave Wallis and Bruce Crummy, unofficially dubbed “The Three Musketeers of Photography” while working at The Forum.

Hvidston was at the newspaper from 1968 until 2005, Crummy was on the staff from 1976 to 2008 and Wallis worked at The Forum from 1977 until the fall of 2017.

The new exhibit, which also will feature work by current Forum photographers, will showcase 60 images taken from the late 1960s to the present day.
