FARGO — The Plains Art Museum announced the return of its biggest celebration of the year, the Gala, from 7 p.m. to midnight Aug. 13.

The event, usually held the first Saturday in May, was postponed this year due to COVID-19 precautions. The event was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic. This year’s theme, Take Two: Déjà Vu, is a nod to the plans for the 2020 Spring Gala.

Festivities include wine tasting by Happy Harry’s Bottle Shops, desserts from Nichole’s Fine Pastry and hors d'oeuvres from VIP Catering. Entertainment includes performances from FM Aerial Movement Arts, music from Jessica Vines as well as light and sound displays from Livewire.

The centerpiece of the evening is the largest art auction in the region, featuring works from more than 70 painters, printers, potters and other creators. Proceeds support arts access, education and the PlainsArt4All General Fund, which allows free general admission for all visitors.

Tickets are $100 prior to July 16, and $120 leading up to the event with member discounts available, at www.plainsart.org.
