FARGO — The Fargo Public Library is set to begin its summer reading challenge, dubbed "Tails and Tales", Monday, June 7.

The program is available at no cost and runs through Aug. 21. Residents of all ages can participate by reading, attending events and completing challenges.

Children and their families are invited to attend the kick-off event for the challenge from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the Red River Zoo. The zoo will offer free admission for children under 14, and the event will feature animal-themed stories, a zoo scavenger hunt and crafts.

Registration is open through the reading log website Beanstack, and those interested can register until the conclusion of the challenge. To register, visit fargolibrary.beanstack.org or pick up a book log at any Fargo Public Library beginning June 7.
