FARGO — A Minneapolis filmmaker is hosting a fundraising screener for his documentary on the Jacob Wetterling case at 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, at Fargo’s Kilstone Brewing, 764 34th St. N.

Director Chris Newberry will host a trailer release party for the film, which is being made with help from Jacob’s parents, Patty and Jerry.

The Minneapolis filmmaker has had a number of documentaries in the Fargo Film Fest, including “American Heart,” which received an honorable mention in 2014.

Tuesday’s event includes the showing of the film’s trailer and a discussion with Newberry and a representative from the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center who will speak about child exploitation.

Door prizes will also be awarded to ticket holders. Tickets to the screening event are $10 and on sale at https://www.eventbrite.com. There is also a GoFundMe page for the film.

Proceeds from the event and the GoFundMe site will help the filmmakers in the post-production process, according to a news release.
