Filming for the movie, "Tankhouse," entered its fourth day Thursday, Sept. 19, and WDAY News was on set. Reporter Alyssa Kelly learned how the costume designers make most of the clothing for the cast's wardrobe.
Two weeks before shooting, designers shopped at thrift stores around Los Angeles to pick up items. They also re-purposed the clothes they already had.
Costume designer Katherine Hegarty said a lot of thought, time and work go into each outfit.
"Who is this character? Why are they wearing what they're wearing? What does that say about who they are and what can we present to you, the viewer?" Hegarty said.
She said the movie will use about 200 different "looks."
Tankhouse is a joint production between Los Angeles-based Momentum Studios and Forum Communications Co., which owns WDAY and The Forum.
