MOORHEAD - Fans of The Avett Brothers might suffer from some “True Sadness” this weekend - the band has postponed its Moorhead concert until next year because of cold weather.

Promoter Jade Presents announced Friday, Oct. 12, that the band has postponed its show scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Friday, and the group will instead perform at Moorhead’s Bluestem Amphitheater on May 16.

The sold-out concert was slated to be the last Bluestem show of the season.

Jade Presents shared a message from the band on Friday saying the decision was necessary due to “freezing conditions” at the outdoor venue.

“We apologize for any inconvenience, but are compelled by our desire for safety for our audience, our crew, and the band, as well as technical concerns for the functionality of the equipment,” the band said in its written message to fans.

All tickets purchased for Friday’s show will be honored for the new May 16 date. Those who purchased during the Avett Guild pre-sale will get an email from BubbleUp with more information.

Anyone with questions about their ticket purchases can call Tickets300 at 866-300-8300 or email info@tickets300.com.
