MOORHEAD - Moorhead will be getting a new bar in December. Moorhead native Eric Odness (bassist for Primitive Weapons), Rob Pope (bassist for Spoon) and Frank Bevan (former frontman for Freedom Fighters), will be joined by Sean Tillmann, aka Har Mar Superstar, in opening Harold’s on Main, located at 1330 Main Ave.

The four will be joined by actor/musician and Moorhead native, Preston Olson and Tom Kemmer, a general contractor. Olson, Tillmann and Kemmer all have equity in the bar, and the other three will run day-to-day operations remotely with the help of an onsite bar manager, according to an Ellen Burkhardt story in Growler Magazine.

Tillman confirmed the business venture on his Instagram account, harmarsuperstar. Commenters on Tillman’s Instagram post announcing the bar showed excitement for the new establishment.

Har Mar Superstar last performed in Fargo on June 22 at The Aquarium.

According to the Growler story, Odness hopes Harold’s will take the place of Ralph’s Bar, which was shut down in 2005. The bar is named after Odness’ grandfather, who was a beer delivery man for the Hamm’s distribution center, which was located down the street from Ralph’s.

This is not Odness’ first bar venture. He, Pope and Bevan opened the Midwestern-themed Lake Street Bar in 2013 in Brooklyn.

Odness is shooting for a mid-December opening.
