On this episode of Plain Talk, Governor Doug Burgum says a separation of powers fight with the Legislature isn't over after lawmakers overrode his veto. He stopped short of saying his administration might take the matter back to the courts, but said if it does end up back there "the [state] Supreme Court has been pretty clear."
Burgum also said the argument that some lawmakers have put forward, that a restrained interim Budget Section committee would mean lawmakers meeting every year and/or for longer sessions, is a "giant falsehood."
Also Alex Wolf-Root, a post-graduate student and columnist at the University of Colorado, participated in a protest against UND President Mark Kennedy this week. He says when Kennedy visits Colorado next week as the finalist to be that institution's president he will face more protests.
