FARGO — Everyone has a favorite TV couple, but what about each of the 50 states?

A new report released by USDish, a sales agent of satellite company Dish Network, reveals each state's favorite small-screen romances. The team picked 24 iconic TV couples and calculated data from Google Trends over the past five years to find which got the most attention in each state.

It might not come as a surprise, but Jim and Pam from “The Office” were the country’s favorite couple, with top popularity in eight states. "That '70s Show" had the country's second favorite pairings overall, with six states following the romance of two of the show's couples, Jackie and Kelso and Eric and Donna.

Minnesota’s top couple were Chandler and Monica from “Friends,” joining Arizona and Missouri in their love for the fictitious couple played by Matthew Perry and Courteney Cox. Another "Friends" couple, Ross and Rachel, topped the list in Nebraska and Nevada.

North Dakota’s favorite couple, according to the report, were the title characters from “Mike and Molly,” which aired on CBS from 2010 until 2016. This was the most popular couple in the northern half of America, with North Dakota joining South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana as die-hard fans of the on-screen romance portrayed by Melissa McCarthy and Billy Gardell.

While Gardell has had some success over the years with appearances in small movies and supporting roles in other shows, McCarthy has skyrocketed to fame since her breakout role in "Bridesmaids." More recently, she starred in “Can You Ever Forgive Me?” in which she was nominated for several awards and received critical acclaim.
