FARGO — Act Up Theatre is singing a song for child safety.

The Fargo-Moorhead theater troupe will host Cabaret for a Car Seat at 7 p.m. Dec. 26 and 27 at Drekker Brewing Co., 630 First Ave. N., Fargo. The show starts with performances by former Act Up cast members followed by show tune karaoke.

The fundraiser will help YWCA Cass Clay purchase car seats for mothers recovering from homelessness or abusive relationships.

“Providing a new, safe car seat for a child really helps put a mom’s mind at ease,” said Alyssa Heinz, Children’s Services Coordinator at YWCA Cass Clay. “Our goal is to help families live safer, happier, healthier lives and having a car seat is one way we can help.”

Last year, more than 1,400 women and children received safety, support and hope at the YWCA, a news release stated.

Tickets for the shows are $10 and $15, available at https://actuptheatre.org or at the door.
