InForum News Brief

FARGO — An employee at Digi-Key's Fargo location has tested positive for COVID-19, the illness caused by coronavirus, the company said in a statement.

The Thief River Falls, Minn.-based electronics distributor said it learned of the lab-confirmed case Thursday, April 16. The employee reportedly had contact with a small number of coworkers during work hours from March 30 through April 3. Employees have been notified of the potential contact, the statement said.

Digi-Key plans to keep both its Fargo and Thief River Falls facilities open. The company said it has had measures in place since March to contain the spread of COVID-19, including disinfecting work stations every 2 hours and giving 40 additional paid time off hours to essential on-site employees.

About 2,300 Digi-Key employees are now working from home, according to the statement.
