FARGO — Oak Grove Elementary students are finding a creative way to bring joy to patients in the hospital suffering from COVID-19.
Sanford Health's Dr. Jeff Hunt said being in the COVID-19 unit can be extremely isolating for most patients. He had the idea to ask his daughters to make cards for patients.
After seeing how much patients appreciated the get-well wishes, he reached out to his daughters' school, Oak Grove Elementary, to help make more. Oak Grove and Longfellow elementary schools made dozens of cards.
"(It's) very nice to see smiles on some of my patients' faces that I haven't seen smile in multiple days," Hunt said. "I would say pretty much 100% of them had smiles on their faces. They really thought it was a neat gesture."
