FARGO — Some familiar faces and voices will re-create one of the most iconic concerts when Jay Ernest and Kat Perkins will portray Johnny Cash and June Carter in " Folsom Prison Experience" at the Fargo Theatre on May 20.
The musical looks at Johnny Cash’s 1968 Folsom Prison concert and the ongoing relationship between the two singers. Cash's concert album from that show would become a hit later that year.
Ernest is known for fronting the Johnny Cash tribute act Church of Cash, while Scranton, N.D., native Perkins is known for her solo work and participation in season six of “The Voice.”
Tickets are $35 in advance or $37.50 day-of-show, plus fees.

Country star Deana Carter will play the Fargo Theatre on July 8 . The singer broke out in 1997 with her debut and signature tune, “Strawberry Wine.”
