Leddy throws no-hitter to lead Bison softball to doubleheader sweep

FARGO — The North Dakota State softball team earned two Summit League shutout wins over South Dakota State to extend their winning streak to 20 games. The Bison beat SDSU 5-0 and 1-0 before 306 fans at Tharaldson Park on Sunday.

In Game 1, NDSU's KK Leddy struck out five and walked three to record her first and the school's 31st no-hitter. Maddie Hansen and Cara Beatty both drove in two runs for the Bison.

In the second game, Vanessa Anderson had two hits and scored a run. Paige Vargas threw a six-hit shutout with five strikeouts.

The Bison improved to 30-11 overall and 8-0 in the Summit League. They close out the three-game series with South Dakota State (25-12, 4-4) at noon Monday.
