FARGO — A Fargo man is accused of sexually abusing a young child and possessing child pornography.
Cass County District Judge Susan Bailey set bail on Friday, March 20, for Raymond Terrance Reid, 36, at $500,000. He is charged with a Class AA felony of gross sexual imposition and a Class C felony of possessing certain materials prohibited by North Dakota law.
Court documents detail what prosecutor Ryan Younggren described as “very significant allegations.” It’s unclear exactly when the alleged acts took place, though one document said between the dates of Jan. 1, 2015, and May 31, 2019.
A child under 10 years old told police in September that Reid inappropriately touched her multiple times, sometimes sexually abusing her with paintbrushes, according to court documents. She alleged Reid tried to rape her, showed the girl videos of naked adults and took pictures of her, court documents said.
Along with video evidence pertaining to the case, investigators said they found evidence Reid downloaded child porn to his phone.
Reid, of Fargo, denied Friday in court that he did anything laid out in the allegations. His next court hearing is April 16.
Bailey ordered Reid not be allowed in the presence of children without supervision. He also cannot contact the child in the case.
