FARGO— It's national Truck Driver Appreciation Week and some drivers received a special surprise today.

As truck drivers pulled into the I-94 West Weigh Station near Mapleton, they were greeted by dozens of people there to say thank you. Drivers were greeted with a surprise lunch of a foot-long sub sandwich, water and a bag of chips.

250 subs were given out to unsuspecting drivers who were all thankful for a little treat.

Mark Wolter with the Fargo-Moorhead Transportation Club says truck drivers are necessary and they deserve the appreciation.

"It's a very, very important job that they have to do and a lot of people are working from home-truck drivers can't work from home their job is on the road. We need the truck drivers out there hauling freight for us every day."
