Classes resumed at Red River High School in Grand Forks Tuesday after a rumor sent students and police into a frenzy yesterday.

Grand Forks police say an out-of-control rumor led to an emergency call by a concerned parent of an active shooter on the campus.

No threats were made, police said, although officers were called to campus around 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 26.

Some students were sheltering in place while police made sure there was no one intending harm at the high school.

Police said if there are ever any threats to a school, they will likely use all of their resources to ensure students remain safe.
