FARGO — City park officials are aiming to make winter more fun with two seasonal additions to Island Park.
Crews from the Fargo Park District built a snow luge for sledders on the park's east side and teamed up with contractor Dakota Underground to create a tunnel system with large, donated pipes and see-through wooden boxes. It's the second year they've built the tunnels.
Park officials said it's a way for people to enjoy the outdoors — even in the winter.
"We think cold is cool, and we try to embrace that here in Fargo," said park foreman Josh Mathern. "There's a lot of things that we have at Fargo Parks that can be done outside."
The luge will also be used for the Frostival Cardboard Races later this month.
