Local restaurants raise money for sick children

Local restaurants are taking the day to give back to the community with "Dine to Donate."

Boston's Pizza is one of a half-dozen restaurants to help raise money for the Children's Miracle Network. A portion of sales from today will go to the fund - which helps provide special equipment and programs for sick and injured kids at the Sanford Children's Hospital. Some of the money raised will also help fund research. Boston's management says it's glad it has a chance to give back doing what it does best.

"It's a double win. We're excited because this is how we know how to give back. There's so many families affected by this cause," said Tyler Birkland, the owner of Boston's Pizza in Fargo.

Last year's event raised nearly 6,000 dollars.

The fundraising runs through the 15th of January.
