AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1990-1 TITLED
“CASCADE TOWNSHIP DOG ORDINANCE.”
The Cascade Town Board, Olmsted County Minnesota ordains:
Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1990-1 adopted on March 1990 and titled “Cascade Township Dog Ordinance is amended to read:
Section 3.1A. Vaccinations License Required.
All dogs kept, harbored or maintained by their owners in the Township of Cascade shall be vaccinated by a qualified veterinarian licensed and registered if over six months of age. Dog vaccinations licenses shall be deemed legal upon owner’s receipt issued by the Clerk upon payment of an annual license fee of $5.00 for each male or female and upon receipt by the Clerk of a certificate from a qualified veterinarian showing that the dog to be licensed has been given a vaccination against rabies in compliance with Olmsted county Public Health Regulation #36. Such license shall be for the whole or unexpired portion of the period of the duration of such vaccination. Licenses shall be renewable thereafter for the period of the duration of such vaccination. The Clerk shall cause a notice of the necessity of obtaining dog vaccinations available on the official township website. licenses and registration to be published in the official township newspaper one time prior to March 1 of each year. This ordinance shall become effective upon the date of the publication of the enacted ordinance.
Section 3.1B. Tag and Collar
Upon vaccination by a qualified veterinarian, the resident shall receive for each dog payment of the license fee, the Clerk shall provide and furnish for each licensed dog, a metallic tag upon which there shall be stamped or engraved the registered number of the dog’s vaccine, the work “Cascade” and the year licensed. Every owner shall be required to provide each dog with a collar to which the vaccine license tag must be affixed, and shall see that the collar and tag are constantly worn. In case a dog tag is lost or destroyed, a duplicate or new tag will be issued by the Clerk upon proof that such dog was licensed, and the payment of 50 cents for such duplicate. Dog tags shall not be transferable from one dog to another and no refunds shall be made on any dog license fee because of death or the dog or the owners leaving the Township before expiration of the license.
This ordinance becomes effective from and after its passage and publication.
