Department of Human Services 600 E Blvd. Avenue Dept. 325 Bismarck, ND 58505-0250 Email: firstname.lastname@example.org Waiver Request: A waiver will be requested to allow the Low-Income Home En-ergy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) to increase it expenditures for weatherization activities from 15%up to 25% of the total federal allo-cations available for federal fiscal year 2022. The waiver will allow the De-partment to increase the number of low income families who can receive such benefits as home in-sulation, storm door and window repair, emergency furnace repair and replacement, and energy as-sessments and education concern-ing energy saving techniques. The increased funding is avail-able for these activities due, in part, to additional funding made avail-able through the American Res-cue Plan. This waiver will allow the Department to increase its invest-ment in energy saving activities.
