BEMIDJI, Minn. - The Minnesota Dental Foundation and the Minnesota Dental Association will team up to host the second annual Minnesota Mission of Mercy event here on June 14-15, with set-up on June 13.
The groups are seeking volunteers from northwestern Minnesota to help provide free dental care to individuals who face barriers to care. All community volunteers are welcome to participate, and many jobs are available for set-up and treatment days, including patient greeting, registration, translation and escorts.
A temporary dental clinic will be erected at the Sanford Center in Bemidji to provide treatment for children and adults in need, regardless of their ability to pay. This is the second Mission of Mercy event being held in Minnesota and is expected to draw patients from a wide geographic area. The first event was held last August in Mankato, where there were 2,000 patient visits over the two-day period.
