The Behavioral Health Division of the North Dakota Department of Human Services is urging parents to take advantage of the tools offered in their free Parents Lead program.
Created in the mid-2000s, the program was originally focused on preventing underage drinking through research-based tools for parents. Since then, it has adapted to provide behavioral health resources for specific situations — including the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since March 2020, the Parents Lead program has offered pandemic-based tips for parents to follow for situations including how to explain the pandemic to children of all ages, as well as how to balance working from home and distance learning.
