FARGO — The American Heart Association got an added bonus on top of Giving Hearts Day donations on Thursday, Feb. 14.
Fargo Tech Mahindra employees presented the nonprofit with a check from funds raised at a bake sale two weeks ago. Their goal was to raise $1,000 by selling goodies and online auction items, but they raised more than twice that amount — and then some. The group reached a total of $2,100.
"They originally thought we were going to donate close to $200 or $300, so when we told them it was actually $2,100 they were blown away," said Jessica Sell, team lead at Tech Mahindra.
The American Heart Association will use the funds to teach CPR to more than 2,600 kids in North Dakota.
