Aquila to be installed Wednesday in Denver

DENVER - The Rev. Samuel J. Aquila, former bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Fargo, will be installed as Archbishop of Denver at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Denver.

DENVER - The Rev. Samuel J. Aquila, former bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Fargo, will be installed as Archbishop of Denver at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Denver.

Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, will preside over the Rite of Installation.

The Mass will be held in the presence of Cardinal J. Francis Stafford. Philadelphia Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap., will be among the Mass concelebrants.

Archbishop Aquila will be the main Mass celebrant.

Due to the size of the cathedral, attendance at the installation is by invitation only.

The event will be transmitted live via the Internet at www.livestream.com/

archden and on the Eternal Word Television Network.

A busload of invited guests, which include clergy, deacons and diocesan staff from the Fargo area, will travel to Denver to attend the ceremonies.
