After hiatus, MSUM's Straw Hat returns with three outdoor musicals

The 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic

Minnesota State University Moorhead’s Straw Hat Summer Theatre returns with three outdoor musical productions this June.

The 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Things kick off June 1,2 and 3 with the romantic comedy, “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change.”

Breakout the bell bottoms and platform shoes for the flashback, “8-Track: The Sounds of the 70s in Concert.” The jukebox musical, running June 8, 9 and 10, features groovy tunes by KC and the Sunshine Band, The Bee Gees, The Carpenters and more.

The ’70s vibes continue with the summer finale, “Godspell,” June 15, 16 and 17. Stephen Schwartz’s classic take on Biblical parables features the hit, “Day by Day.”

Rain dates are June 4, 11 and 18.

All shows are PG-13 and start at 7:30 p.m. on the MSUM mall.

Performances are limited to 200 seats for safe in-person attendance. Tickets must be purchased at least 24 hours in advance, with no tickets available at the door.
