FARGO – Artist Heather Zinger and Churches United for the Homeless are working together to expand public understanding and knowledge of homelessness in the Fargo-Moorhead area.
This week Zinger is conducting interviews that will end in a performance using tiny houses panted by children at the shelter, with the help of Marissa Van Vleet, an artist who has volunteered to teach art classes to kids at the shelter.
Zinger is the artist-in-residence at the Roger Maris Cancer Center and is the artist organizer for the organizations Springboard for the Arts and PartnerSHIP 4 Health.
The performance will feature words from interviews with community members who work with people who are homeless. It will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Plains Art Museum in Fargo. It’s part of an event called Thursday Night Live, which will be held from 5 to 8 p.m.
At 6:30 p.m., Jane Alexander, Churches United executive director will conduct a discussion.
Solidarity house painting will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
