FARGO - There are plenty of options around the state to stay active and enjoy fun events this month.

The North Dakota Department of Commerce's tourism division said Fargo and several other communities will soon hold Oktoberfest celebrations, with Fargo's festivities set for Friday and Saturday. For more information, visit www.oktoberfestfargo.com .

Hankinson, Jamestown and Mandan all will celebrate the beginning of fall with their Oktoberfest celebrations Saturday, and the fun in Mandan will continue on Sunday.

The Central North Dakota Steam Thresher's Reunion in New Rockford kicked off Friday and will wrap up today, giving visitors a chance to view rare antique steam engines and tractors, watch a parade and enjoy live entertainment.

In Grand Forks, runners and walkers can put their fitness to the test with the Wild Hog Half Marathon on Friday and Saturday. Participants can choose from a family fun run, half marathon, half marathon relay, 10K and 5K, with food, beverages and live entertainment following the races Saturday.
