MOORHEAD - The Concordia College English Department will host a Visiting Writers Festival Wednesday through Oct. 4 in Frida Nilsen Lounge.

A public reading will be at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 2 and a student-moderated panel discussion will be at 9:20 a.m. Oct. 4. Both events are free and open to the public.

Each fall, the English Department invites three writers to campus to read their work, conduct master classes, participate in a student-moderated panel discussion about writing and literature, and visit classrooms.

The department invites a poet, a writer of fiction, and a nonfiction writer or journalist to participate. This year's festival will include novelist Nick Healy, poet Athena Kildegaard and nonfiction writer Melanie Hoffert.
