MOORHEAD-Better Together, Concordia College's interfaith organization, received an award for Best Overall Campaign from Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC) recently. IFYC was founded by interfaith activist and author Eboo Patel.
Jacqueline Bussie, Concordia's director of the Forum on Faith and Life and associate professor of religion, was awarded the Outstanding Ally award, one of two individual honors offered to a staff or faculty member.
Concordia's chapter of Better Together was recognized for being able to incorporate interfaith into the classroom, putting together 450 toiletry kits for Better Together Day and building the interfaith program on campus over the past several years. Bussie was recognized for her dedication to ensuring that student leadership is at the center of the interfaith movement on campus and student leaders have the opportunity to flourish.
Concordia's Better Together chapter will receive $500 and two free registrations to attend the annual Interfaith Leadership Institute hosted by Patel's organization, which teaches students how to become effective leaders and engage with interfaith on campus.
