Drive-in Metallica concert on screen at RRVF

Heavy metal band Metallica is the latest act in the Encore Drive-In Nights series at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds, West Fargo.

The event , which has featured performances by Garth Brooks and Blake Shelton, features pre-recorded concerts by acts played on a big screen.

Fans buy one ticket per vehicle, holding up to 6 people, and can watch the show from inside or seated outside the vehicle, while observing safe social distancing from other parties.

The Metallica performance will be shown on Aug. 29. It will be shot exclusively for this event and feature music from throughout the quartet’s career. The night also includes a show by Three Days Grace.

Tickets are $115 a vehicle and go on sale at noon on Friday.

Gates will open at 4:30 p.m., the day of the show. Attendees can tune in the audio from the concert on their stereo at 101.3 FM. While attendees can’t bring in their own beer, there will be a beer garden open from 4:30-8 p.m. Other food and beverage options will be available for purchase as well.

Attendees can sit outside of their vehicle, but are asked to be respectful of others’ space and the social distancing guidelines.
