FARGO - An upcoming concert has been canceled at a downtown venue after allegations of sexual misconduct were leveled against the artist.
Promoter Jade Presents announced Thursday, March 15, that Datsik's March 25 performance has been canceled at Sanctuary Events Center, 670 4th Ave. N. Anyone who purchased tickets with a credit or debit card should get an automatic refund, according to the Facebook post. Those who used cash are asked to make a return at the Tickets300 box office, 306 N. University Drive, which is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Datsik, the stage name for Canadian dubstep DJ Troy Beetles, found himself accused of multiple sexual misconduct claims starting Wednesday, March 14, when social media users posted allegations Beetles encouraged women to take drugs on his tour bus and forced himself on fans. The Jade Presents announcement alluded to those new allegations as it canceled the Fargo performance.
"We believe concerts should provide a safe environment for fans to enjoy the music," Founder and President Jade Nielsen said. "It is the view of Jade Presents that such allegations should not be taken lightly, and sexual misconduct is not tolerated."
Datsik posted to Facebook on Thursday that he decided to cancel all remaining tour dates and festival appearances in light of the accusations.
