FARGO — The Fargo-Moorhead Community Theatre has named Judy Lewis as its new executive director.

Lewis has been with the FMCT since 2019, serving as education director.

She’ll fill the role Eloise Breikjern held until she retired in December after seven years on the job.

Lewis faces two immediate issues in keeping the 75-year-old theater going in the midst of a pandemic and planning for a renovated theater after structural issues forced the building to close in late 2019 .

She holds a Master of Arts in Applied Theatre & Theatre for the Young from Eastern Michigan University and previously served as the theater director outside of Detroit.

For 20 years John Lamb has covered art, entertainment and lifestyle stories in the area for The Forum.
