Fargo PopExpo planned April 22-23 at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds

The event is a celebration of all pop culture.

WEST FARGO — The Fargo PopExpo, a celebration of all things pop culture, will be held April 22 -23 in the Butler Building at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds.

The event will feature FM Comic-Con, new segments for "Motorheads," a Lego and videogame area, gaming demos, crafts and more. A cosplay costume contest is also planned for 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Perhaps the most well-known guest this year will be actor Erik Estrada, best known for playing "Ponch" on the television program "CHiPs." Also scheduled to appear are:

  • Adrian Lee, paranormal researcher and author
  • Steve Thaemert, "Rat Rod" magazine founder and paranormal producer/musician.
  • John Bivens, comic artist
  • Eliot Rahal, comic author/artist
  • "Baby" the Impala from the television program "Supernatural"

Admission is $10 for adults, $4 for kids ages 6 to 12, and kids under 5 are free. An $8 discounted ticket is available for teens ages 13 to 17, students and educators, veterans, seniors, first responders and those working in the health, fire or police fields.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 22 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 23.
