Kicks Band brings jazz to area parks this summer

Big band booked seven free shows in Moorhead, Fargo and Detroit Lakes

MOORHEAD — The Kicks Band of Fargo Moorhead is kicking off its summer concert series at Gooseberry Mound Park this Thursday, June 16, at Moorhead’s Gooseberry Park.

From 7-8:30 p.m. the big band will play music from artists like Michael Buble, Maynard Ferguson, Kris Berg, Duke Ellington and more.

Other dates this summer include:

  • 7 p.m. June 30, Gooseberry Park
  • 7 p.m. July 21, Gooseberry Park
  • 7 p.m. July 22, Bandshell, City Park, Detroit Lakes, Minn.
  • 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 6, Red River Market, Broadway Square, Fargo
  • noon to 5 p.m. Aug. 7, Kicks Band Jazz Festival, Island Park, Fargo
  • 3-4:30 p.m. Sept. 10, Davy Park, Moorhead

All concerts are free. Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs and water to the park shows.
