MOORHEAD — A local couple's search for a new home will be the subject of a new episode of popular HGTV series "House Hunters" that will air this week.

Jerry Griggs, finance officer for the city of Dilworth, Minn., and Alexa Dixson-Griggs, program associate for the Fargo-Moorhead Coalition to End Homelessness, filmed the episode in October. It will air at 7 p.m. Central time this Wednesday, March 9, on HGTV.

Their Realtor, Poonam Budhiraja with Advantage Inc. Realtors , said the couple was living in a smaller rambler in Moorhead, but as their family grew to include a child, they needed something more.

"They were looking for a bigger place that could possibly be a forever home," Budhiraja said, adding that the couple hoped to find a larger living area, more bedrooms on the main floor, a quieter location and a larger lot.

She said they were open about the location and willing to consider properties within 15 or even 20 miles of Moorhead, and were OK with looking at houses that needed some work. The main criteria, she said, was a bigger house and lot.
