FARGO — Area musicians have another week to apply for a grant. The deadline for Jade Presents Arts Partnership Music Grants has been extended to 5 p.m. Friday, February 7.

The grants support musicians reaching their dreams, whether that be helping them buy new equipment, recording songs, taking music on the road or commissioning new works.

The grant is funded by taking a portion of each ticket sold to the 2019 Bluestem Summer Concert Series in Moorhead. Grants range from $250 to $2,500 and support musicians and bands at any career stage and any genre.

Since 2015, Jade Presents has partnered with The Arts Partnership to award $34,000 to artists. Last year's winners include The Knotties, David Allen, The Max Johnk Quartet and The Human Element.

For more information, go to www.theartspartnership.net/grants/ or contact Tania Blanich at The Arts Partnership at 701-237-6133 or tania@theartspartnership.net.

For 20 years John Lamb has covered art, entertainment and lifestyle stories in the area for The Forum.
