BISMARCK — A grant program to support and help develop artist-led projects is now accepting applicants.
The application window will be open Aug. 15 through Sept. 23 for the Main Street Initiative's Artists on Main Street Program.
The program's goal is to "support rural community development at the intersection of arts and culture, downtown revitalization, and historic preservation," according to a news release from the North Dakota Department of Commerce.
Eligible entities, which include city or county efforts, economic development organizations, local arts councils, tribal entities and nonprofits, may get up to $5,000 of funding per community, with the funding geared toward technical support and supplies and resources to help make artist-led projects in at least five North Dakota cities. Recipients will participate in a yearlong initiative with training for leaders, creative placemaking training for artists and direct project funding.
