Pacifism talk set in Fargo to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day

FARGO - In preparation for the celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, the public is invited to a conversation about Mahatma Gandhi from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the North Dakota State University Lutheran Center, 1201 13th Ave. N., Fargo.

FARGO - In preparation for the celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, the public is invited to a conversation about Mahatma Gandhi from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the North Dakota State University Lutheran Center, 1201 13th Ave. N., Fargo.

Gandhi's philosophy of Satyagraha influenced King's practice of nonviolent resistance. Concordia College assistant professor Abhijit Ghosh, whose heritage is Hindu, will talk about how Gandhi shaped his commitment to pacifism. The purpose of the gathering is to promote respectful interfaith dialogue and is sponsored by the Center for Interfaith Projects.
