HAZEN, N.D. — The popular country duo Tigirlily will now perform as Tigirlily Gold, according to a post to the group's Instagram account Thursday, Oct. 20.

"After almost 10 years, & a lot of thought & consideration, we have decided NOT to change, but to ADD onto our band name. Introducing "Tigirlily Gold," began the post.

"I know y'all may have some questions, so before we get too far, we are adding onto our name because there are so many different brands/artists with a similar name, so we wanted to make sure as we grow, people are able to find our music without any confusion," the post continued.

Natives of Hazen, the Slaubaugh sisters have performed and released music since 2013, when they were teenagers. They moved to Nashville in 2017. In February of 2021, their song "Somebody Does" debuted at No. 1 on iTunes in America for all genres.

The sisters said they chose "Gold" because to them it means "home, sunrises, sunsets, wheat fields, the Badlands, gravel roads and staying true to yourself."
