March comes roaring in like a lion with plenty of fun events to take in this weekend.
1. NDSU Press Party
Tonight
North Dakota State University Press is ready to turn the page. The publisher celebrates its third annual press party with the authors and artists of its most recent books. Meet and talk to the people behind the titles, like David W. Mills ("Operation Snowbound: Life Behind the Blizzards of 1949"), Madelyne Camrud ("Songs of Horses and Lovers"), William R. Caraher and Bret A. Weber ("The Bakken: An Archaeology of an Industrial Landscape"), Matthew Valan ("Sister Secrets: A Brother's Reveal"), Denise Lajimodiere ("Thunderbird") and K. Amy Phillips, Steven R. Bolduc, Kevin Carvell and Wayne Gudmundson ("The Prairie Post Office: Enlarging the Common Life in Rural North Dakota"). The event is free and open to the public and runs from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Harry D. McGovern Alumni Center, 1241 University Dr., N., Fargo. https://ndsupress.org/ .
2. The Good Lovelies

Tonight
What is it with Canada and female folk trios? Following the path cut by The Be Good Tanyas and The Wailin' Jennys comes The Good Lovelies to play the Gaede Stage, Roland Dille Center for the Arts tonight. Focusing on three-part harmonies, the group created some buzz with its own tune, "Lie Down," but is also popular for covering Canadians, like a jazzy take on k-os' "Crabbuckit," Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" and Gordon Lightfoot's "Winter's Night". The Toronto trio's latest single, "I See Gold," has a more pop polish, so tonight's show should offer a variety of sweet sounds. Music starts at 7:30. Tickets range from $12 to $28. www.mnstate.edu/perform , (218) 477-2271.
3. Hairball
Saturday
Are you ready to rock like it's the 1980s? All you need is a stiff shot of Hairball to get you fired up. The region's premiere arena rock tribute act returns to town with an even bigger stage show and the same knack for cranking out classic, hard rock nuggets. Music starts at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, at the Fargo Civic Center, 207 4th St., N. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 the day of the show. https://www.ticketmaster.com . (800) 745-3000

5. Ben Rheault
Sunday
They say membership has its privileges and supporters of the The Rourke Art Gallery + Museum, 521 Main Ave., Moorhead, have known that for more than half a century. For 55 years artists have made members' prints for patrons of the institution and now the Moorhead art spot has them on display for all to see. While you have to be a member to get this year's print - Ben Rheault's "Chaotic Order" - the show and Sunday's opening reception from 3 to 5 p.m. are free and open to the public. www.therourke.org.
