Dilworth City Administrator Ken Parke was full of excitement recently when talking about new businesses moving into this small metro city.
"We're always excited to see more business coming to Dilworth," Parke said.
Ground has been broken for an addition of 109 rental townhome units. The city approved platting and rezoning of the land north of Walmart, Parke said.
Twenty-one units of the townhome addition, named Prairie Crossings Townhomes, are expected to be finished by spring, said Dave Glessner, Prairie Crossings manager.
The high-end townhomes will be a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom units. Glessner said the spacious two-level homes with attached garages and washer-dryers installed will likely range in rent from $1,100 to $1,450 per month.

The townhomes come from the same company that owns and manages Mallard Creek Townhomes in Moorhead.
Wal-Mart Stores,s Inc. owns the four pad sites surrounding its Supercenter store at 415 34th St. N. While Maurice's and Dollar Tree now occupy two of the sites, there has been no word on whether the Arkansas conglomerate has convinced other businesses to move into town.
There will also be additional living space for senior citizens in Dilworth soon. Serenity Assisted Living took out a building permit for a
$1.4 million addition to its facility.
Tim and Elaine Anderson opened the doors to Serenity at 1125 Oakview Drive in Dilworth in 2006.
A message for Tim Anderson seeking details on the building was not returned.
Gateway Crossing, the strip mall at 1710 W. Center Ave., is welcoming another tenant: DaVita Dialysis.
DaVita Inc. provides dialysis services to patients with chronic kidney failure and end-stage renal disease.

It is the largest independent provider of such services in the U.S., with 1,530 outpatient dialysis facilities and units in about 720 hospitals.
Farther east on Highway 10, the first phase of a set of new storage units was approved by Dilworth to be developed by Rick Halvorson along Seventh Street Northeast.
"We're very excited about all the activity we have going on," Parke said. "Hopefully winter doesn't come too soon."
Dakota Supply Group
Dakota Supply Group, a distributor of electrical, plumbing and waterworks products with headquarters in Fargo, has acquired MDM Supply, a Montana-based distributor of plumbing supplies.
MDM Supply will retain its name and staff, and virtually everything else will be "business as usual" for both customers and manufacturers.
The acquisition of MDM Supply will add nearly 70 employee owners to DSG.
"We define ourselves by the success of our partners," Tom Rosendahl, president of DSG, said in a statement. "MDM Supply operates the same way. There's no question that we are going to be a good fit."

Colombia trade visit
Representatives from Case New Holland, ECHO Bear Cat, JM Grain, Lura Enterprises, Northarvest Bean Growers and RDO Equipment are in Colombia on a trade mission with Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring, the North Dakota Trade Office and the U.S. Commercial Service.
The trade mission began Monday and was scheduled to wrap up Friday.
The United States-Colombia Free Trade Agreement took effect May 15, lifting Colombian duties on more than 80 percent of U.S. industrial exports.
Colombia is North Dakota's 22nd largest export market with exports of just more than
$14 million in 2011.
Glik's marks 115 years
The family-founded Glik's franchise is celebrating 115 years of business this year.

Glik's, a men's and women's apparel store, has headquarters in Granite City, Ill. and operates a shop at the Moorhead Center Mall, 420 Center Ave.
Glik's is known for the young-centric brands it carries such as Silver Jeans, Billabong, Hurley, Roxy, Fox, Quicksilver, DC, Volcom, Miss Me and TOMS, among others.
"Our business is about the product and the customer, not just about the numbers. That's fun," Jim Glik, Glik's vice president, said in a statement. "That is how the three generations before me did it."
