MOORHEAD – Registration is open for Trollwood Performing Arts School’s summer youth education programs.
From 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Trollwood hosts an early registration party at Bluestem Center for the Arts. Middle and high school students that register at this event save $70. Elementary students save $20 by enrolling at this event.
Saturday’s event allows parents to ask questions about programming and watch last year’s performance of “How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying.” Families are encouraged to bring one dozen finger food snacks or desserts to share.
Programs are:
- ArtSpark – a weeklong performance-based workshop for ages 6 to 11.
- Totally Trollwood Academy – focusing on the basics of acting, vocal performance and movement for ages 11 to 14.
- Totally Trollwood Musical – a production of “Shrek the Musical Jr.” for ages 11 to 14.
- Trollwood Academy – training in theater, music, dance and the production arts, for ages 14 to graduated seniors.
- Trollwood Conservatory – two-week intensive for 19 and 20-year-old students in acting, dance and musical theater.
- Mainstage Musical – cast, orchestra and crew participation in production of “Mary Poppins.” For ages 14 to graduated seniors.
- Student Leadership – Student-to-peer mentoring program for upper-level students.
Prices range from free for Fargo School District residents who have completed grades 11 or 12 by spring of 2015, to $425. A $100 waiver is offered by West Fargo Public Schools for its students.
