VALLEY CITY, N.D. - The Valley City State University Department of Music will host two public musical events in October.

Faculty from the department will perform a recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, in Froemke Auditorium, Foss Music Hall. The recital features new faculty members Daniel Becker and Jerrold Heide, as well as Ken Jimenez, John LeTellier and Christopher Redfearn.

The annual James D. Ployhar Honor Band Festival is Friday, Oct. 5 and Saturday, Oct. 6, at 3 p.m., in the Vangstad Auditorium. This festival features students from across the state of North Dakota who auditioned.

Both events are free and open to the public.
