WAHPETON, N.D. - A grass fire took hours to extinguish Saturday afternoon because of high winds near Wahpeton.
The fire was reported around 3 p.m. and firefighters were on the scene until after 6 p.m., said Wahpeton Fire Chief Derek Miller. The fire burned the equivalent of a five-block-long strip but only burned about 20-feet wide. The fire destroyed two sheds.
The investigation is ongoing.
Firefighters from Wahpeton, Breckenridge, Minn., Dwight, N.D. and Fairmont, N.D., were on the scene.
