The old WDAY radio Talent Parade has drawn considerable attention in this column . Now, here are pictures of its crowds contributed by former WDAY staffer Steve Tschida, Fargo.

“These photos attest to the program’s popularity,” Steve writes.

“Towns up and down the Red River Valley hosted the radio troupe’s live broadcasts from the city armory or the high school gym.

“Both of these photos were submitted to WDAY radio by station listeners,” Steve says. “The shot with the balcony might be from Hawley, Minn., but I cannot confirm this. The second shot was submitted by Kent Moeckly, from Britton, S.D.”

Steve retired from WDAY in March 2020.

“I’m loving retirement,” he writes, “but I still take a keen interest in the remarkable history of WDAY radio, which will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in May of 2022.”
