After a series of health issues a few years ago, Dan Jones didn't know if he would be able to make art anymore. He answered all questions with an exhibit of charcoals earlier this year at the North Dakota Museum of Art in Grand Forks. Now, Jones shows his skills as a painter with a new collection at ecce art + yoga, 216 Broadway, Fargo. The show includes some recent charcoals, but the strongest pieces are on canvas, where Jones can paint fluidly, capturing light in picturesque landscapes or boldly using dark spaces for dramatic rural scenes. The show opens tonight with a reception from 7 to 9 p.m. that is free and open to the public. (701) 298-3223.
