Wildlife refuge to host volunteering day events

ERSKINE, Minn. - An AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps team will host a day of volunteering and celebration of Minnesota's native prairies and wildlife from 1 to 4 p.m.

ERSKINE, Minn. - An AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps team will host a day of volunteering and celebration of Minnesota's native prairies and wildlife from 1 to 4 p.m. April 21 at Rydell National Wildlife Refuge here.

The event includes guided trail walks to learn about the local native ecosystem, building pinecone bird feeders and a screening of the film, "Green Fire - Aldo Leopold and a Land Ethic for Our Time."

Those interested in volunteering at the refuge can familiarize themselves with the refuge through trail cleaning, participating in guided trail walks, cleaning and preparing wood duck boxes and meeting current volunteers.
