GRAND FORKS - Blitzen Trapper headlines tonight's second show in the North Dakota Museum of Art Concerts in the Garden series in Grand Forks.
The sixth annual summer-long series, which kicked off last month with a show by Minneapolis hip-hop singer Dessa, features acts from around the country.
"There are so many bands and sounds today that it is a very exciting time for music," Concerts in the Garden organizer Matthew Wallace said in a news release. "Blitzen Trapper is a superb example of a band that possesses the ability to master any genre they choose and gain entirely new audiences wherever they play."
The band's show in Grand Forks is drawing notice. Wallace said the museum has received inquiries about the performance from Fargo, Minot, Bemidji, and the Twin Cities.
"We are preparing for this to be the biggest show of the season," Wallace said.

Other Concerts in the Garden will feature William Elliot Whitmore on July 16, The Pines on July 24, David Wax Museum on Aug. 7 and She Keeps Bees on Aug. 21.
The Portland, Ore.,-based Blitzen Trapper is taking a break from a series of dates with the rock band Wilco.
The group has previously played a number of shows at the Aquarium, in Fargo, developing a fan-base for their mix of 1970s-era mix of country, folk, stadium and psychedelic rock. They are touring behind their sixth full-length album, "American Goldwing."
Jami Lynn of Rapid City, S.D., opens the show at 6 p.m. with Blitzen Trapper taking the stage at 7 p.m. Audience members are invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating in the museum's sculpture garden. In case of rain, the concert will be moved into the museum.
Food and beverages, including grass-fed burgers and bratwursts, salads, root beer floats, beer and wine, will be available for purchase at the concert.
