FARGO - About 1,000 truckers will meet the world record for the longest convoy in support of Special Olympics.
About 60 truckers will be from the area. The convoy will start at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds.
The World's Largest Truck Convoy for Special Olympics is an annual event that unites law enforcement and truckers to raise funds for Special Olympics. Since it began in 2001, more than 10,000 trucks - from big rigs to dump trucks - have traversed more than 3,000 miles.
The event will begin at 9 a.m. with a basketball game. At 10 a.m., an auction for the "Lead Dog" spot will be held.
The convoy has already held the title in the Guinness Book of World Records of the longest convoy for the past two years.
